Web Services Industry News Survey:87% of Web applications yield positive ROI results for most companiesOctober 29, 2003 According to a recent report from Line56 and Plumtree Software, 76% of IT executives worldwide say they either deploy or are planning to deploy Web applications related to employee services. Following employee services, knowledge management (67.1%) and customer support (62.8%) are the most common Web apps organizations have deployed or will in the future. ![]() Line56 surveyed 522 IT executives from companies with greater than $250 million in revenue. Respondents worked primarily in the high tech, financial services, Healthcare and CPG industries, among others. The report notes that of those companies that have determined the ROI of their Web application investments, 87.2% say they have achieved positive ROI from their enterprise Web deployment. ![]() In the beginning of this year, Gartner Dataquest surveyed 111 IT professionals in North America only and found that most planned to use Web services development strategies within the next year or two to integrate both internal and external applications. A lesser 39% said they would use Web services to integrate only internal applications within the next 12 months, while 23% said they would do the same within the coming two years.
